I am the youngest in a large Irish family with eight brothers and a sister and I have two children who are the love of my life. I am an accountant by trade who happens to write poetry so I guess you can call me a creative accountant. I have dabbled in poetry ever since I was a young boy but never took it very seriously until I wrote Christmas Reflections.
As a child growing up in Philadelphia our family never longed for anything but Christmas was a time of receiving necessities like a coat or socks and maybe a couple of family toys. As a result, the commercial side of Christmas was never that big to me and what created the best memories was the getting together with family and friends.
While these poems are my personal experiences, I feel I have been given a gift to express in words the feelings and memories of Christmas that we all experienced. I say this because I never started out to write a book but was encouraged by the smiles on the faces of those I shared these stories with when originally writing Christmas cards each year.
I hope when you get a taste of my work that you will want to buy a copy but it will be reward enough for me to know that a smile came to your face or a tear to your eye as you had your own Christmas Reflection.
Sincerely,
Pat
